HUNTING CAMP

You arrive the afternoon before we shoot in rifles at our shooting range. We do a game drive to orientate you on the reserve. We have dinner in the large thatched Lapa or open Boma and talk a lot about hunting an become acquainted. Up early the next morning, have coffee, and off to the bush either with a lunch pack or we return to camp for lunch. After lunch we continue hunting till about 5pm, return to the camp/lodge where we have big fires going and cold beers served with a scrumptious dinner around a large campfire.

 

HUNTING RULES

  • Hunters will be subjected to a shooting ability test on or before the day of the hunt. Only rifles of caliber 6mm or 243  or higher may be used  to shoot Blesbuck, Impala, Springbok, and Fallow Deer, and 7mm and higher for larger animals.
  • All hunters will be accompanied by a guide  who will not be responsible for pointing out the sex or species of animals.
  • Consumption of liquor will not be allowed while hunting.
  • No hunting will take place from a vehicle.
  • All hunters must be in possession of a hunting license which will be available for sale at Roydon.
  • All hunters must sign a declaration of indemnity.
  • Hunters must preferably belong to a hunting club or association.
  • Accommodation for the hunters will be on the reserve.
  • Hunting will take place on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning if required and again Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning if required.
  • None of the animals are guaranteed to make any record book, but the hunter can shoot the best animal he/she can find on the day.
