A 1500ha Nature Reserve situated in Queenstown, an Adventures Heaven with abundant game and wildlife and so many adventure activities to choose from.

The Adventure Centre's main focus is the education of the youth using nature as an educational tool and conservation as the basis of the education. Roydon offers hiking and exploration in the beautiful mountains and rock pools a great obstacle course, water activities high and low rope activities, camping, abseiling,  volleyball, multiple sports field, horse riding, archery, paintball, raft building, fly fishing, game viewing and 4x4 routes.

BASE CAMP

With accommodation for 100 students, campers and facilitators in dormitories and thatched en-suite cabins, lecture halls, fully equipped kitchen and dining hall, large open Boma with braai facilities makes Roydon a sought after venue. Your own tents and equipment are also welcome.

 

CAMP OBJECTIVES

  • School campers are taught to deal with indifference, criticism and negative thinking in a constructive and positive way.
  • Lessons will be taught on perseverance, promptness and value of preparation.
  • Campers will learn about code of conduct, how to be true to ones obligations, how to be faithful, loyal, truthfull and honest.
  • Lessons will be taught on the value of good timekeeping, friendliness, positive attitude, and the will to make a difference.

 

MEALS AND CATERING

With a fully equipped kitchen, meals can be made on a self catering basis, but we prefer to cater, thus ensuring that every camper leaves fed with healthy wholesome farm food, lots of fruit, with braai, potjies, spitbraai and farm cooked meals to keep all the campers in good spirit. Menus can be arranged for each day.

  • Sleeping bag or blanket and pillow
  • Warm clothing for evenings
  • Comfy walking shoes (old ones)
  • Swimwear, bath and swim towel
  • Underwear and one set of clothes for each day
  • Pajamas and track suit to sleep in
  • 1 toilet roll and 1 black rubbish bag

  • Medication if required
